About
The two main characters in Les & May are a married couple entering their retirement years.
Les Mature has been working for 40 years and enthusiastically embraces retirement – early retirement in fact!
May Mature dreads retirement. She would gladly continue working if her employer of 20 years wasn’t forcing her into early retirement.
May, a Type A personality, adjusts to retirement by throwing herself into household projects “They never had time for” and trying to drag a reluctant Les along with her.
Les is more laid back and easy going – if he’s “going” at all. His ideal is a do-nothing retirement.
May is a health and fitness “freak.” Les is “addicted” to junk food and a sedentary lifestyle, except for golf – on a cart of course!
In spite of their many differences the two are a loving and devoted couple.
Les and May will be the only regular characters in the strip’s early stages, with cameo appearances by family and peers in the retirement set.
